In 2004, the LLN created the Bandages and Garments Fund because some insurance companies do not cover the necessary compression suppiles required for treatment and long-term maintenance of lymphedema. The Bandages and Garment Fund was established to assist patients who reside in the state of Georgia who are uninsured or underinsured in obtaining the necessary bandages and garments for the treatment and maintenance of their lymphedema. Patients currently undergoing lymphedema therapy from a certified lymphedema therapist may apply to the Bandages and Garment Fund with a recommendation from their therapist. To date, the Bandages and Garment Fund has assisted over 350 individuals obtain the supplies they needed.
